My Very First Post!

This is so exciting to me because I have never ever blogged before. I have had a ball creating my blog and trying to figure out how to make everything work. I never knew all this existed. Oh sure, I knew about blogs, but I never knew it was in the stamping world too. I was an avid stamper for years and years until I met my husband in 1999, and well.... my interests changed. LOL Through the years, I would come back to crafting off and on, but I have missed stamping a lot. I decided a few months ago that I would get out my supplies and start stamping again. I visited the local stamp shop, The Enchanted Cottage, to get me really excited again. It did the trick! I've taken a few classes to learn about all the new toys out now and I'm absolutely in love with the copics and the cuttlebug. During last weekend's class is when I learned about all the stamping blogs. It's been so fun blog hopping!! I could not believe all the challenges and blog candy!! Speaking of candy, I signed up for my first one over at Inked Inspirations and I'm crossing my fingers for beginner's luck. It's awesome candy - Magnolia Stamps! Take a peek in my sidebar to see it. I never knew blog candy was even in existance until this past sunday! Thank goodness it is calorie free!! I send my thanks out to The Scrappy Chick, who is the funtabulous teacher I've been taking classes from recently, for making my return to stamping extra fun.

So with this being my first post, I just had to make a card today to enter in some of the challenges I have already run across. I used the sketch for the Mojo Monday #121 as a starting point.

And here is my finished card!

Other Challenges I've entered with this card are:
Just Magnolia Special Monthly Challenge - Paper Pleating and must use a Magnolia Stamp. I used one of the Tilda stamps. The paper pleating is the horizontal piece near the top.
Tuesday Morning Sketches #28 - for Buttons and Bows.
Copic Colour Challenge #47 - had to use colors (or similar): B97 Night Blue, YG07 Acid Green, and W-5 Warm Gray. I colored Tilda with my copics and picked up the colors in the background papers. I used similar colors as I didnt have B97... yet.
A Spoon Full of Sugar Challenge #86 - A recipe including 3 pcs designer paper, 1 pc ribbon, 3 flowers and 3 buttons. I used small pieces of each since this was a busy card!
ABC Challenge - L is for Layering. My card certainly has the layers!
There She Goes Clear Stamps #37 - Embellishment X3. Ribbon bow, brad buttons, and the butterfly.
